Kangana Ranaut had created ripples in Bollywood with a stellar performance in Queen. Raising a toast to womanhood, Kangana's sparkling performance coupled with the film's brilliant plot had brought in immense critical acclaim along with commercial success. Now the actress has been conferred the National Award for Queen.

Kangana has been awarded the Best Actress Award for her riveting performance while Vikas Behl's Queen has bagged the Best Film Award. An inspirational story for most women, Kangana's Rani aka Queen resonated the angst and pangs of most Indian women today. After having a flurry of flop films and some not-so-memorable roles in few big budgeted Bollywood films, Kangana managed to break all previous Bollywood stereotypes and opened a new window for female oriented films. Backing the film solely on her shoulders, Queen also accumulated a whopping Rs 61 crore at the box office, a figure that came as a huge surprise for all movie-goers.

While her performance has been lauded, Kangana's decision of not attending Award shows has caused most functions to not give her any awards. But now that she has won the National Award, will Kangana make a change in her plans? Will she attend the ceremony to receive her Award? Nevertheless, we do feel that she truly deserves it!
