As soon as Kamal Haasan and his team arrived in Los Angeles, they got to work and started the shoot for the film Sabash Naidu. The Ulaganayagan is said to be really excited about the project directed by Rajeev Kumar as he will be seen with his daughter Shruti Haasan in the film. His younger daughter Akshara is an assistant director on this project.

In a note to the media, Kamal Haasan spoke about the film. "I am happy to say that I and members of my unit have arrived in Los Angeles for shooting of our new film, Sabash Naidu. This is a project that we are all enthused about and we have hit the ground running. As with almost every film production in our industry, we are dealing with the inevitable hiccups in production, especially with a project of this scale and complexity, but it is my good fortune to be working with an extremely talented and supportive cast and crew," he stated.

The renowned actor also thanked the US Consulate for their support to him. "I am especially appreciative of the continued support of the US Consulate in Chennai, who have always been very understanding and extremely helpful in enabling us to have a smooth passage to USA for the many shoots that my production house has undertaken there. I will presume to speak for my industry when I say that they have always been very supportive of any credible and genuine effort to make a South Indian film in the US of A.  I thank them for their warm support and look forward to more such efforts from my industry," he added. Kamal Haasan has shot films in the US earlier as well.

Sabash Naidu has music by maestro Ilaiyaraja. Ramya Krishnan and Brahmanandam are also part of the film. The movie is slated to release on December 1 in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. In Hindi, Saurabh Shukla will play Brahmanandam's role. The movie is expected to be shot in as short a time as possible.
