Kamal Haasan grabbed headlines on Friday as his film’s release was stalled across the country. Uttama Villain which is directed by Ramesh Aravind and penned by Haasan himself was scheduled to release nationwide on Friday. However, that didn’t happen as financial issues cropped up between the producers and the financiers of the Kamal Haasan starrer. But all of you who were eagerly waiting for Uttama Villain to release can now heave a sigh of relief because the film is going to the hit theatres on Saturday. Nikkil Murugan, who is Haasan’s publicist, announced this piece of information on the popular social networking site Twitter.

Murugan wrote on Twitter a while back, “All issues sorted out.. Uttama Villain releasing today all over..Thanks to all who supported for the film to get release.(sic)” He further tweeted, “All is well for Uttama Villain…Official announcement of releasing Noon show in few mnts…Meeting the media by 12.00 Noon now..(sic)”

While its good news for all movie buffs down South that Kamal Haasan’s film is finally releasing today, this isn’t the first time that Shruti Haasan’s daddy dearest has courted controversy because of his film. During the release of Vishwaroopam, the South superstar became the talk of the town as his film faced ban from the Tamil Nadu government. In 2000, the Uttama Villain actor was embroiled in a controversy, courtesy his period crime drama Hey Ram.
