Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's first ever brand endorsement for a textile group in Tamil Nadu is out. But what has had people praising him for more than the ad itself is the fact that the revenue from this ad will be donated to helping children affected with HIV. The renowned Indian actor is said to have donated Rs 16 crores to an NGO.
Many actors in the Indian film industry do advertisement to supplement their income. Some of them believe it's quick and easy money. But Kamal Haasan is one of the few stars who has done an ad with a worthy cause in mind.
Music director Ghibran who has worked on several films with star stated on his Facebook page, "Happy to compose music for Kamal Haasan Sir's first TV commercial for #Pothys . It was also fun working with my friend Krishna(Black Box Films) after a long time!"
A letter allegedly issued by the NGO was also doing the rounds.
