After revealing the new poster for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the makers unleashed a whole new spectacle on the eagerly awaiting fandom.

First of the many spin-off films in the Star Wars Universe, the new trailer of Rogue One answers a lot of questions and promises a thrilling ride ahead.

Set right before 1977's, A New Hope, Rogue One works as the missing piece of the puzzle which links the prequels to the original trilogy and how the blueprint of Death Star lands in the hands of Princess Leia.

In the trailer, we are introduced to Baby Jyn who is carefully listening to her father, Mads Mikkelsen's Galen Erso. This is the first time a Star Wars story has indulged in a flashback for such a long scene.

As the trailer progresses, we realise that the Death Star came to be because Galen wanted to protect Jyn. (The Irony!) The Empire's Director Orson Krennic takes Galen to build the weapon and Jyn (we assume) drifts in the wind.

Next, in the trailer, we see the Rebel team rescue a now grown up Jyn, played by Felicity Jones, from whatever prison cell she was in for whatever reason. For selfish reasons of their own (presuming she was in contact with her father and he passed on his knowledge to his daughter). Jyn has a hope now. Hope to reunite with her father.

The rag-tag band of rebels is as follows -

Diego Luna as Captain Cassian Andor
Donnie Yen as Chirrut Imwe
Riz Ahmed as Bodhi Rook
Jian Weng as Baz Malbus
Alan Tudyk as K-2SO

Genevieve O'Reilly plays Mon Mothma and Forest Whitaker plays Saw Garrera who was introduced in Star Wars: Clone Wars and he has fought alongside Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader.

Speaking of Vader, one can not stop chuckling when Krennic lectures him on how the power they are dealing with is immeasurable. We see Vader's reflection on a glistening surface as a star explodes in the background. We are yet to hear the voice of the Sith Lord.

Rebels take their chance, invade the operative base of Death Star and we see one spectacular space plane fight. A lot of explosions, colours and a slight presence of the Force even though the filmmakers have insisted on this being an extraordinary story of ordinary people.

The last part of the trailer, though! Saw Garrera goes, "Save the Rebellion, save the dream!" Boy, I had a Heroes deja vu!
