Justin Bieber to retire from his singing career?

Pop icon Justin Bieber allegedly announced on a national radio station in California that he would retire from his career as a singer.

"After the new album, I'm actually retiring man. I'm retiring," he said, Daily Mail reports.

Although, the teen icon, who is also very active on Twitter, hasn't tweeted about this. If was talking in jest is unclear.

On furthur questioning by the radio host, he added, "I want to grow as an artist and I'm taking a step out, I want my music to mature."

His new album, Journals, is released next week, and it could be permanent.
