Jared Leto might play Joker in DC's 'Suicide Squad'

The rumour buzzing around Hollywood these days is that Oscar winner Jared Leto is set to play the Joker in Suicide Squad from Fury director David Ayer.

The Dallas Buyer’s Club star and Warner Bros. have neither confirmed nor denied the news. However, what is certain is after Heath Ledger’s amazing performance in The Dark Knight as the Joker, the next person cast in the role has his work cut out for him.

Tom Hardy, Will Smith and Margot Robbie are also rumoured to star in the movie.

DC Comics' Suicide Squad is a group of supervillains who are given a chance to redeem themselves on a secret mission.  According to DC Comics the Suicide Squad undertakes numerous high-risk missions for the US government. More interesting than the actor set to play Joker is the character itself fitting into the plot of the film.

Suicide Squad is set to be released in 2016.
