On the auspicious day of the Janmashtami festival - one of India's most loved festivals that celebrates the birth of lord Krishna, we bring you seven Bollywood songs that not suit the festive flavour of the occasion.

Take a listen.

Yashomati Maiya Se:

A song that comes to mind right away when you talk about Janmashtami, this song is beautifully penned, bringing out the innocence of lord Krishna.

Mach Gaya Shor:

Peppy and vibrant, the song encapsulates the fun and frolic usually associated with Janmashtami, especially the Dahi handi ritual!

Govinda Aala Re:

This hit song from Shammi Kapoor's Bluffmaster is still the most recognised Janmashtami number. One of those brilliant black and white numbers, 'Govinda Ala Re' is an all time favourite!

Bada Natkhat Hai:

Amar Prem's soulful 'Bada Natkhat Hai' number captured the mother-son love of Krishna-Yashoda with nuanced conviction. From the innocent tricks to the search for her 'nandakishore', the song shows how Krishna used to playfully trouble his mother Yashoda.

Maiya Yashoda:

One of the most melodious Janmashtami numbers, 'Maiya Yashoda' was Radha's plea to Yashoda, complaining about Krishna's naughty maneuvers. Kavita Krishnamurthy and Alka Yagnik's voice infused life into the track and how.

Radhe Krishna Ki Jyoti:

Sooraj Barjatya who is famous for his traditional films depicting the Indian culture on screen, had another Janmashtami number up his sleeve. With Shreya Ghoshal rendering this soulfully sweet number, he had another winner!

Go Go Govinda:

An urban peppy take on songs about lord Krishna, this song from OMG - Oh My God! reverberates the dahi handi flavour and makes you get up and just dance!
