Ed Sheeran has announced that fellow singer James Blunt will feature in the opening act on his North American arena tour.

The 26-year-old musician took to Twitter to break the news to fans and followers.

"Happy to announce my opening act on my North American tour is @jamesblunt," wrote Sheeran.

Recently, the "Shape of You" singer collaborated with Blunt on his upcoming album 'The AfterLove' to pen the lyrics of the song titled, "Make Me Better", dedicated to his wife Sofia Wellesley.

Blunt had said he had never written songs from a personal point of view until Sheeran pushed him to write from the bottom of his heart.

Sheeran will kick off the musical journey at Kansas City's Sprint Center on June 29 and run through a show at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on October 6.
