Jacqueline Fernandez was asked to follow the Victoria’s Secret Diet to lose muscle and gain a more feminine appearance for a film. Versova-based detox consultant Sneha Tyrewala, who has worked with the actress, actually had a chance to see what models do to keep the weight off. She says, “My aunt has been the regional contact for Victoria’s Secret for a while, so I had the opportunity to go behind the scenes and actually see what the ‘Angels’ eat. And you would be surprised to know that they eat seven to eight times a day.”

THE DIET

To start with the models begin the day with a superfood drink made of Spirulina, raw red maca powder, raw goji powder, vegan protein, coconut water, chia seeds and an acai shot.

After an hour, they have gluten-free toast with one avocado and two egg whites with seeds and nuts or cottage cheese and an Omega shot made with pomegranates and blueberries.

This is followed with a workout and a shower, where they use a special soap that’s made with activated charcoal, rose oil, goat’s milk and Dead Sea sand.

Post workout, they have a drink made with 15 gms of protein, one half of a banana, one half of kale, a handful of berries — strawberry, blueberries,
raspberries and black berries — alongwith
one spoon of acai berry powder.

After three hours, there’s lunch. They go gluten-free with either quinoa or buckwheat (anything that does not have more than 10gms of carbs), lean meat and veg proteins like spinach, beans, pulses, kale and quinoa.

Three hours later, they have a smoothie bowl that contains almond milk, frozen fruits and vegetables along with a spoon of maple or organic raw honey or muesli (gluten-free) or a protein bar (gluten-free again), which gets its natural sweetness from dates.

Three hours hence, it’s dinner time. The Angels are allowed veggies and fish and hearty soup made of lentils and veggies.

After 6.30 pm, they are not allowed to have anything raw, as it takes longer to digest. Also, One ought to be done with dinner by 8.15 pm.
