While there were murmurs about the same, the actress has now confirmed that she is indeed doing The Kapil Sharma Show and will not be returning to Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai anymore.
Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai has definitely been the most watched show on &TV. With a unique concept and some effortless performances, the show has been climbing the TRP charts ever since it went on air. But now, there's a roadblock. One of their prime actors Shilpa Shinde who played Angoori Devi on the show won't be seen anymore on the show.
Shilpa has unceremoniously taken an exit from the show and as per the makers, she had only told the producers that she will be taking a leave because of migraine issues. But this matter has now got heated up after Shilpa accused the channel and the production house for her exit from the show. Although the makers were maintaining a dignified silence till now, they have sent out a statement in the press, condemning her allegations and also slapped a legal notice on her.
Amidst all this hullabaloo, there was buzz that Shilpa has left the show only to be a part of Sony TV's new show The Kapil Sharma Show. This will be on the lines of Comedy Nights With Kapil and will mark the return of the formidable team back on the small screen. Confirming the development, she told, "I am working with Kapil Sharma. The show is more than a film for me. My fans will be very happy to see me on the show as my character will be comic, yet different from what I have done before."
When quizzed about her character, she didn't reveal much, calling it to be a 'surprise' for the audiences. "I have not signed anything on paper yet, it is mutually decided as of now. The character is a surprise. I decided to do the show because they asked me very respectfully, they are all good actors. In fact, Kapil left a big channel to start his own show and his team did so too. That shows unity," she said.
So now it's all clear. She definitely put up a grand show and raked up a huge controversy only so that she could be a part of Kapil's new show!
