It's not a comeback

Gabbar Is Back, but Yo Yo Honey Singh is not. His latest song Aao Raja in the forthcoming Akshay Kumar film Gabbar Is Back, touted to be his Bollywood 'comeback' after a long absence, isn't really a 'return to active duty'.

Sources from the production team say the number was recorded before his prolonged illness. "We decided to bring Honey together with Chitrangda Singh because of his open adoration of her. Yo Yo just couldn't stop raving about her. He would talk non-stop about her and her beauty. That he's a big fan was very clear." And so, Chitrangda was roped in to do the song for Honey Singh's sake. "Little did we know at that time that Yo Yo was going into voluntary retirement," says the source.

The question now being posed is , when will Yo Yo return? No one has an answer to that one.

The rapper-rocker has cut himself loose from all his friends in Bollywood. No one knows the nature of his mysterious ailment. No one knows when he is expected to return. Says a close friend, "I was in touch with him through his wife Shalini. But now even she has stopped communicating. We've no idea when he will come back to the entertainment industry… or whether he will come back at all."
