Is Tiger Shroff on his way to becoming India's Sylvester Stallone?

Are the 'Baaghi 2' and 'Rambo' remake posters an effort to portray the actor as that?

It could be argued that filmmakers are seeing Tiger Shroff as India’s future-proof action star. So much so, they’re marketing him as India’s answer to Sylvester Stallone. His two upcoming films, Baaghi 2 and Rambo, both due to release in 2018, see him in a rugged one-man-against-the-world avatar.

The Ahmed Khan-helmed Baaghi sequel sees Tiger reprising his role as Ronnie and the first poster for the sequel has him shirtless, with his back facing the viewer, holding a gun and in army fatigues, watching as the wings of a helicopter rises, seemingly from under him. The poster is clearly inspired by the Rambo III poster, except the helicopter here is completely in view.

Siddharth Anand’s Rambo remake’s ‘first look’ poster has Tiger Shroff posing pretty much the same way as Stallone did in Rambo 2, of course, sans the bandana and the vest. While the helicopters in Sly’s poster are to his right under his elbow, Tiger’s poster has the helicopters above his left shoulder.

If Tiger’s modelling himself on one of the best action stars of all time and he does it to the best of his ability in a remake, more power to him!
