Jennifer Lawrence
X-Men: Days of Future Past
It’s tough to recognise award-winning Jennifer Lawrence in this sequel that has her strip down to just wearing her blue body paint and bodysuit. The 22-year-old actress is reprising her role as Mystique in the hit franchise where she plays a mutant with the power to shape shift.

Mark Wahlberg
Lone Survivor
The actor not only had to beef up for his role of Colonel Marcus Lutrell in the film about Navy SEALs, but also had to go through rigorous training for his role.

Jamie Foxx
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Most comic book fans were shocked when it was revealed that Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx would play villain Electro in the next Spider-Man installment. Due to release in April, Foxx sports a bald head, blue skin and grotesque burn scars in the flick.

Rodrigo Santoro
300: Rise of an Empire
In this sequel, Rodrigo Santoro takes on a unique avatar as King Xerxes. The Brazilian actor apparently spent four hours getting made up each day in order to get into the golden and bald character.

Christian Bale
American Hustle
One of the most radical makeovers, Christian Bale gained a whopping 40 pounds to play con artist Irving Rosenfeld in the film. He apparently, indulged in an endless amount of junk food especially cheeseburgers to achieve his protruding belly and even  cut off all his hair in order to  portray a balding man who glues on a toupee.

Angelina Jolie
Maleficent
The Sleeping Beauty tale sees the stunning Angelina Jolie don prosthetics to make her cheekbones into sharp ridges and has her ears given a new pointy shape. Playing the wicked witch, the actress looks extremely different with her large ram horn helmet and deep red lip paint.

Johnny Depp
Transcendence
The science fiction thriller due to release in April will see Johnny Depp return to play a terminally ill scientist who downloads his body into a computer.  He’s seen sporting wires on his bald head in a trailer for the film.

Aaron Eckhart
I, Frankenstein
A far cry from his usual roles, in this thriller on the battle of good vs evil Aaron Eckhart brings to life Mary Shelley’s monster. The actor looks unrecognisable in this character that required many hours in make-up to create an extensive scarred look, not to mention a lot of hours at the gym for those washboard abs.
