I was never offered 'Race 2': Nargis Fakhri

Actress Nargis Fakhri, who is back in the city after a short break, squashes rumours doing the rounds about her.

Actor Nargis Fakhri, who made her debut in Rockstar with actor Ranbir Kapoor, was written more for her link-up with her co-star than her acting skills. But Nargis seems okay with that and thinks the criticism that came her way has only helped her improve herself as an actor. “I am quite happy with the criticism. I think it has helped me hone myself as an actor. I am happy because it helped me recognise my flaws and work on them. I am just one film old and I knew there would be flaws, so as long as it is constructive criticism, it’s okay,” she says boldly.

The actor, who went to New York immediately after the release of her film, has returned to the city after two months. The actor confesses to having missed Mumbai while she was away. “I missed Mumbai so much! I wanted to come back. In some way, the transition from New York to Mumbai was easy because both the cities have the same vibe. They are similar in a lot of ways. People are friendly, both cities are relatively safe and great fun to be in,” says the actor.

After her return to the city, Nargis had to face rumours about her having signed Ramesh Taurani’s Race 2 and another film with actor Arjun Rampal. Brushing aside the buzz, she says, “I don’t know where this came from. I was never offered the film and this is quite bizarre. I am in talks with the Tauranis, but it is for some other film that they have in mind, definitely not Race 2. Actually, I don’t want to be a part of any controversies.”

Her spokesperson too clears the air about her supposed other film. She says, “Nargis is not doing Nikhil Advani’s film opposite Arjun Rampal. Any reports suggesting otherwise are false. We will be making an announcement regarding her next film soon.”

Well, we’re waiting...
