I was a state level baseball player: Deepika Padukone

It’s a known fact that Deepika Padukone was a national-level badminton player. However, not many know that she played baseball too, at the state level.

Deepika says, “I have not spoken about it before but I was a state level baseball player too. Before you get surprised, let me tell you that baseball is played in India and we have some very good players. Unfortunately, you don’t know about them because of a lack of awareness. I have also played badminton at the national level and basketball at the state level. I was a champion at the state level at a few tournaments in these disciplines. Representing my state is a big thing for me. So, it is but natural that I would want to do something for the games that have given me so much,” says Deepika.

Speaking about her sister Anisha, Deepika says she has chosen not to step into Bollywood at all.

“My sister doesn’t want to come into Bollywood at all. She is training to become a professional golf player. She is already an amateur and she will be turning pro soon. She is happy staying away from Bollywood,” she ends.
