Much has changed for Shahid Kapoor since becoming a father. Over a telephonic conversation, he recounts what those changes are, talks about how wife Mira and he are bringing up baby Misha. Read on...
Attention-seeker
Of his play time with Misha, Shahid says, “I am always trying to entertain Misha and I am down on my hands and knees all the time. I think I have become goofier after having my baby. I am doing more stupid things. I am trying to get her attention all the time. Just like a puppy who jumps around to get your attention.”
Early riser
Becoming a husband changed him in a few ways. But becoming a father has changed him in other ways, too. He explains the difference, “I also like being home more now. That is one of the biggest changes in me. That’s not something I used to like doing before. I was not a morning person. But because Misha wakes up early, I also try and get up by that time to be with her. This was not me. I would always spend like 20 minutes after waking up to get up. Getting my coffee, reading the papers and then being grumpy for sometime, going for a shower and then waking up. Now, that’s not the case. I am wide awake. So yeah, it brought about many changes...”
‘A happy reality’
Misha recognises his voice now. He says, “I believe she started recognising my voice and touch from the second she was born. I live in that, it’s a happy reality.”
‘Mira is candid’
Most husbands in the business claim their wives are their harshest critics. But Shahid puts it in a better way. “There’s nothing harsh about her but she is brutally honest. She is extremely candid and you expect that from someone who’s this close to you.” Mira loved him in Rangoon, he adds. “Yes, she totally loved the film. She liked my character because she feels he’s tough and she liked the armyman side of me. She is always honest with me about her opinion on my films. And I’m glad she liked the film.”
‘Mira’s more popular’
There were rumours that Mira and Shahid have been offered films together. Shahid admits, “Yes, that’s very true. Mira and I have been offered films together. Now toh, very often actually. Mira’s getting more popular (laughs). But no, obviously she didnt’n take up any of them, else it would have been all around the news by now.”
‘Acting not on her mind’
With so many offers around, is Mira considering becoming an actress? Shahid defers, “She has not told me yet. I don’t think it’s something on her mind. At least not that I know of!”
