What do you think is you claim to fame?
I think it was definitely Khuda Jane. I was fortunate to get that song. It added a new dimension to me since I had never sung a romantic song before.

Why do you think the industry chose you?
When you get the right song, it comes to you naturally.  I am fortunate to have worked with good music directors like Vishal-Shekhar and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. 

What makes you different from the others?
I think it’s my ability to not go over the top and underplay myself when required. 

Who or what have been your inspirations?
Hariharan, KK and Sunidhi Chauhan have really influenced me.
