Comedy star Melissa McCarthy has replied to the haters of upcoming female reboot of Ghostbusters, who are bashing the film even before watching it.

The 45-year-old Spy star said she doesn't understand how an all female reboot of the movie will spoil someone's childhood, reported Entertainment Weekly.

"All those comments, 'You're ruining my childhood!' I mean, really. Four women doing any movie on earth will destroy your childhood? I have a visual of those people not having a Ben (Falcone), not having friends, so they're just sitting there and spewing hate into this fake world of the Internet. I just hope they find a friend," McCarthy said.

Ever since it was announced that Paul Feig would be rebooting the classic 1984 film, the project has faced wave after wave of backlash on Internet.

Ghostbusters starring Leslie Jones, McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Kristen Wiig, hits theaters on July 15.
