Akshay Kumar is seen making public appearances to promote his upcoming Bollywood flick Entertainment, and so is the lead actress Tamannah Bhatia. In a candid conversation with dna, the actress featuring opposite Khiladi Kumar in the movie, opens up about her experience of being a part of the movie.

What drew you to sign Entertainment?

I got this offer when I was shooting for Himmatwala. The writers of the same film -- Sajid and Farhad came up to me and said that they would want me to be a part of Entertainment. I was more than glad once I heard the story; it was sweet and had had this dog as an integral part of the movie, and Akshay who has already done so many comedy movies. This one is different. even though it is comedy, it has soul in it. Sajid and Farhad have been writers in so many films like Golmaal series, Chennai Express, Singham. It was high time that they directed the film. I like the kind of comedy that arises from their characterisation.

How was your experience shooting with a dog?

I have always been an animal lover and dogs are my favorite. I was never allowed to get a dog in my childhood but after shooting with Junior (real name of the dog) in Entertainment, I decided to get myself a dog — Pebbles who is an absolute brat. I never understood why the dog was named Entertainment in the movie up until I started living with my own doggie. This is because they are genuinely the most entertaining and loving and loyal animals ever. My dog does chew everything and most recently even managed chewing a pair of my glasses, but he is the soul of my home!

We have heard you will be seen playing the role of a TV actress. How different was it playing the character?

Acting as a TV actress was funny, my character goes in a TV serial mode whenever she wants to say anything important. To make it not very caricature-ish, believable, not too dramatised at the same time TV serial-ish, was an interesting task for me.

It's also learnt that Humshakals stars have disowned the film, how do you feel about it?

Well, Humshakals is a film in my career, where I really enjoyed being a part of it. Whatever happens to the film at the box office, it's fate and that doesn't mean that I am not a part of the film. In-fact, after HimmatwalaHumshakals projected me really well. I am thankful to Sajid (Khan) for giving me the opportunity. I really enjoyed being a part of it. It is my film.

Like other Bollywood stars going behind the mike, do you also wish to?

Ofcourse, I would love to but I doubt if anybody would want to listen to it (giggles). I do sing.

Akshay Kumar is learnt to have a strict body clock, were you able to cope up with it?

As everybody knows, AK reaches on the sets early morning. I was glad as my body clock is exactly like his. I like to start the day early and finish it soon. I believe, AK does a lot of movies, I love how he improvises every scene.

How was it working with Akshay Kumar? How was the chemistry between you and Akshay, on-screen and off-screen?

Akshay Kumar (sighs)... It was fabulous working with him. It happened several times when I got stuck into something and AK would always come to rescue. He would tell me small tricks to improve my performance in many scenes.
And chemistry, I really believe is good. There are a lot of sweet scenes because we are playing a couple which is already in love. The chemistry is lot in the writing also. And, personally when I met him for the first time, I was like 'Akshay Kumar!!'

But, he made me feel so comfortable. While doing Tera Naam Du, a romantic number in the film, I was supposed to free fall behind; had it been some other actor instead of him, I don't know if I would have done it. I had so much faith in him.

Which is you favourite song sung by an actor?

I loved the one that AK (Akshay Kumar) sang especially for media. The song is not even a part of the movie, he sang it live for media and entertainment, which is pretty rare. And, the recent one Samjhawan by Alia Bhatt is also pretty cool.

After Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor, now Priyanka Chopra to sing for 'Mary Kom'

What are the projects you have signed off-late?

I have not signed any Bollywood film as of now, but will be seen in three South Indian movies.
