The actor has been receiving a lot of praise for his work in the upcoming Tamil-Hindi bilingual film. Madhavan who has also co-produced Saala Khadoos (Irudhi Suttru in Tamil) is very excited about the feedback he has got from the audience post the trailer launch.

Saala Khadoos has been directed by Sudha Kongara and also features real-life boxer Ritika Singh. Madhavan plays the role of a boxing coach and Ritika his student. Ask the actor whether he was the first choice for director Sudha Kongara for the role of Adi Tomar and he laughs and says, "I hope so!"

And why did Sudha pick him for the role? "Because I’m the only nutcase who’ll do an out-of-the-box subject, who’ll give up three years of my life and do what it takes for the film," laughs Madhavan.

The actor has been promoting the film across India is looking forward to the film's release on January 29. Going forward, will he more particular about his scripts? Answers Madhavan, "When have I not been? You can’t take every script and turn it on its head and make it your whole and sole like I did for this film. I’m an actor. My place belongs in front of the camera. I would like to do more projects, but it can’t be a standard project; it can’t take me back after doing a film like Saala Khadoos."
