Commercial comeback: You couldn’t have missed this beauty in the latest Kaya Skin Clinic commercial. Rukhsar Rehman, the actor from yesteryears, has now hit it big with a bunch of commercials including Asian Paints, Saffola salt and others. “I haven’t got any great offers after ‘Sarkar’, so I decided to take up commercials which offer good exposure as well as remuneration. I’m very satisfied with my work right now,” she says.

Giving up films: Rukhsar, who hails from a small town in Uttar Pradesh, recalls her first break. “I was in school and my father’s friend who runs a magazine introduced me to a few people in the film industry. Though my father was not very happy with my decision to join films, I landed a role in Sawant Kumar’s ‘Yaad Rakhegi Duniya’ after which I did a couple of other films,” explains Rukhsar who quit the industry at her father’s request. “I moved back to UP where I began a garment business,” she adds.

No regrets: With a drop-dead gorgeous face, was it a wrong choice to quit the industry? Rukhsar doesn’t think so. “I don’t see the girls who were around when I joined; it’s a completely new lot. Besides, I don’t brood over my past and am quite happy making a fresh start.”

Current line-up: Flooded with offers, Rukhsar has finalised on some projects and is currently shooting for a few more commercials. “I’m doing a film with Manoj Bajpai and there’s another one for which talks are still on. There’s also a chat show that I’m considering,” she ends.
