TV actor Ratan Rajput gets teary-eyed while talking about her work schedule and the trouble that she undergoes every day for her new soap.
Clad in clothes that haven't been washed for the last five days, 21-year-old television actor Ratan Rajput (of Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kucch Kar Dikhaengi fame) meets us at Wai near Mahabaleshwar. The actor is currently shooting for Zee TV's Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Ki Jo in which she plays a village girl from Bihar.
Not only does she have to wear dirty clothes but acting in this soap has also made her accustomed to pain and rashes.
She says, "I am in pain. I walk barefoot and the thorns pierce my feet everyday. I have ulcers under my feet even now. However, now I'm used to it."
Though unit members insist that they 'wash the clothes in tea leaves' water to make it look dirty', Ratan reveals, "My clothes haven't been washed for the last five days. That's why I've been asking people not to come close to me. Due to this, I have rashes all over my body. Daily I have been sleeping at 2 am and waking up by 6 am."
Even though she is deprived of sleep, Ratan is full of energy. Not having a mobile phone connection that works in that area is another drawback. After slogging the whole day, Ratan craves to speak to her folks.
"The only time I have network on my phone is when I'm travelling back to the hotel at around 11.30 pm or 12 am. By then it's too late to call my parents. I am close to Supriya (Pilgaonkar) and Sachin. They are the only people I trust in this industry. Sometimes I feel like talking to Supriya and so I call her up even at 2 am. She is very sweet. She talks to me even in that odd hour."
Though she's unhappy with her work schedule, Ratan says she's coping with it. "I want new clothes but I can't get it now," she ends teary-eyed.
