Hrithik Roshan was asked to leave Karan Malhotra's 'Shuddhi'

Karan Johar and Karan Malhotra's collaborative film Shuddhi had run into troubled water ever since it was announced. But now in a recent interview to a leading daily, Hrithik Roshan has openly confirmed that it was the director's choice to move on without him and that he was asked to leave the film.

Following a serious brain surgery, the main actor of the film Hrithik Roshan had asked for sometime off which pushed the shooting schedule of the film a bit further. Post that, Hrithik resumed shooting for Bang Bang and decided to shoot for Shuddhi only after he was done with the Bang Bang promotions. But Karan Malhotra, who is the director of Shuddhi decided to go ahead with the film without Hrithik because he could not wait anymore.

Shuddhi which was in limbo for the longest time worried the director and he decided to move on with the project. Earlier there were reports that it was Hrithik's decision to walk out of the project but now with this interview, he has set all records straight.

Soon after even leading lady Kareena Kapoor walked out of the project and now, the film will have Salman Khan essaying the lead role while the leading lady has not been confirmed yet.
