Hrithik Roshan fans will finally have something to look forward to as the makers of Krrish 3, the sequel to Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish, plan to release the film's first motion poster on social media on Thursday.
Come Thursday, the makers of Krrish 3 will kick off the promotional activities with actor Hrithik Roshan holding his first Facebook Live video chat with fans at 3 pm which will be followed by the release of the digital motion poster on Instagram (@hrithikroshan).
Krrish 3 is the first film in Bollywood to have planned such an extensive social media launch campaign, with the first day of the launch estimated to reach more than 50 million fans.
On Twitter, Bollywood superstar (@iHrithik) posted
The Facebook Live Video Chat will be visible on four related Facebook pages including 'Hrithik Roshan’s official fan page', the 'Krrish 3 movie official fan page', the 'BollywoodHungama.com fan' page and the official 'Bollywood on Facebook fan' page.
The film has tied up with Hungama Digital Media Entertainment to spearhead this campaign, who believe "live chats are easy to use, interactive and an essential tool for celebrities to keep in touch with their fans across the globe".
During the chat, Radio City 91.1 FM listeners will be able to ask the actor questions as well.
Giving his views on this initiative, film director Rakesh Roshan said, "We are looking forward to unveil the first look of our film, Krrish 3, on Facebook. This film is a result of a lot of dedication and creative effort from the entire team. We want to maximise the potential of social media; reach out to millions of fans the world over and this is the first-ever Bollywood film to launch its first look motion poster on Facebook. We are excited that a large number of people will see the first look simultaneously during the launch."
Hrithik said, “I am really excited about chatting with my fans through the Facebook Live video chat and eagerly look forward to the big unveiling of the Krrish 3 digital motion poster. Today’s technology is simply phenomenal, as in an instant we can get immediate reactions and feedback on our films. I’m a huge believer in the power of social media as it directly involves our fans and supporters, and for a movie such as Krrish 3 it takes the experience to the next level."
Neeraj Roy, MD and CEO of Hungama Digital Media Entertainment, shares why the film has taken such efforts to launch via this platform.
"In India, 25% of all Internet usage is for social networking. With over 78 million Indians on Facebook, digital media really opens an array of opportunities that will impact the way entertainment is marketed and consumed today. With the launch of Krrish 3's first look on Facebook, we are not only addressing the domestic audience, but also 1.5 billion south Asians globally. This is just the kick-start of numerous activities we will roll out for the film including music, videos, gaming, etc."
