Celebrity reactions poured in for 2015 Academy Awards after they were nominated in different categories including Best Movie, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and actress along with Best Director.

Nora Grossman, Ido Ostrowsky and Teddy Schwarzman, Producers of The Imitation Game, said that much gratitude to the Academy for recognising the movie in eight categories, Deadline.com reported.

Rapper Common, who has given the music score for the movie Selma has said that he feel incredibly blessed to receive this honour from the Academy. When he first started in hip hop he never imagined that a day like this would come. This movie is a movement and he is thrilled to be a part of it.


Writer-producer of The Theory of Everything Anthony McCarten is a double nominee for Best Adapted Screenplay and as a producer in the Best Picture category. The biggest challenge McCarten says he faced on the film was the first convincing Stephen Hawking that he was the right man to bring the great scientist's life story to the screen.

Reese Witherspoon, who has been nominated for Best Actress for Wild, said that her role of Cheryl Strayed's memoir was about a journey to make peace over the sense of grief she had after her mother died and her self-destructive behaviour and there were a ton of studios interested in making the film as soon as it hit No. 1, but the main reason why she made it outside the studio system was because she wanted to get it made and strike while the iron is hot, to actually streamline the production.


Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel leads the Oscars nominations with 9 nods each. 

Mark Ruffalo has been nominated for Best Actor in Supporting Role for the film Foxcatcher.

Favourite to win this year, Julianne Moore was nominated for Best Actress for the film Still Alice.

Steve Carrell was nominated for Best Actor for Foxcatcher.

Ava DuVernay was didn't receive a nomination for best director. But her film Selma received two nominations.

Patricia Arquette was nominated for Best Supporting Actress her role in Boyhood.
