Sooraj Pancholi has been an Andheri boy for as long as he can remember. And it has been out of choice. Given the choice of buying his own place someday, he’d pick Pali Hill in Bandra. But he’d like a small space regardless. Read on to find out why, in Sooraj’s own words...
Roots
“Growing up, my parents lived in Bandra (they now live in Versova) and I have stayed with my grandparents since I was 14 because my school was in Andheri and it was just easier. Moreover, I had 14 dogs who I refused to leave behind, once I was done with my schooling. So, I never went back to my parents’ place. My grandparents passed away when I was 17-18. Since then, I have been living alone. I have definitely become more independent. But I am very used to this house.”
Small spaces
“Of course, I want to buy a house of my own, when I can afford it. But I don’t like big houses. I like studio apartments. That’s one reason I don’t live in my parents’ house (because I don’t like big spaces). I’d rather choose to stay in a small place.”
Nothing hectic
“My house in Juhu also is very small, it’s a one-bedroom flat and it doesn’t even have a kitchen. I feel when there’s too much in one house, it gets too hectic. I prefer asking for small rooms than the suites whenever I am out for work. I don’t feel sleepy in big rooms.”
Dream area
“I’d buy a small house in a good area. I love bungalows, but I don’t think I will be able to live in one, alone. I see people jogging everyday in the morning when I cross Pali Hill. I love fitness so Pali Hill is my dream area to have my house.”
Requirements
“My dream house will, hopefully, have a kitchen. Plus, I have several pairs of shoes, so if I buy a studio apartment, I’d want a small storage room for my shoes. Currently, they are all over the place.”
