If you were disappointed with the first theatrical trailer of Bombay Velvet, the second trailer will leave you amazed.
Mired in controversies ever since its announcement for alleged fall-outs between the producer and the lead star Ranbir Kapoor, its repeated rescheduling of dates and reports of the film being re-shot, Bombay Velvet has been in news for all wrong reasons. The first theatrical trailer, which was released few weeks ago hardly helped the situation.
Receiving mixed reviews for the first trailer, the audience expectations which had sky rocketed after the first look poster release, started dipping slowly. Only till the second theatrical trailer hit the digital platform. With Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar heading the pack and Anurag Kashyap sitting in the director's chair, what you expect is Hindi cinema at its best. We believe the makers realised the mistakes they had been making in the past few months and quickly resurrected themselves to come up with a gripping second trailer, finally!

Karan Johar- the surprise package!
Ranbir might be the hero of the film but it's Karan Johar who steals the show from the Barfi star right from the first frame. Flamboyant and menacing at the same time, Karan's Khambata as the villain stands out and is the biggest reason why I will catch the film. With high hopes pinning on the actor, I hope he does not disappoint. Rather, I am quite sure he won't.
More drama, more emotions and vengeance
The first trailer seemed half baked, made only to introduce the characters to the audience, only hinting out at the plot a bit. Starkly resembling Bombay of the 70s and 80s, thanks to its background music, the first trailer received a lot of criticism. Such cannot be said about the second trailer. From the very beginning, the trailer grips you and gets on to you. A story of ambitions, aspirations, love, power and vendetta, Bombay Velvet's second trailer touches on all the elements subtly.
Ranbir Kapoor and his dialogue-baazi
Ranbir Kapoor is undoubtedly the best this generation has. But lately, the actor has not tasted success with any of his previous flicks. Ranbir needs that one film to be back in the reckoning and despite the numerous minuses that plague the film, we are quite sure Ranbir will give us a startling performance once again. The actor's taken a huge risk with Bombay Velvet and has put in more than hundred percent to the film and it shows. Plus, he has some of the most catchy dialogues in the film which will call for the ceetees and the taalis!
The impact
The first trailer was a like a firecracker fizzling out. The second one leaves an impact on the viewers. From the sets to the background score to the drama that unfolds in the 2 minutes 20 seconds of the trailer- everything prepares the stage for the film's grand release.
