Here's why Neetu Kapoor gave Shashi Kapoor's Christmas bash a miss!

History has it that Neetu Kapoor isn't too fond of son Ranbir Kapoor's ladylove Katrina Kaif. The Kapoor mom has given ample proof of the fact that she is not ready yet to accept Kat as her bahu. And when Katrina was present at the annual Christmas lunch at the Kapoor's, all eyes were on Neetu Kapoor. But sadly, she was nowhere to be seen! 

While rumours were rife that Neetu gave the age-old tradition a miss, only to ditch being in the same zone as Katrina, the veteran actress spoke to a leading daily and revealed the actual reason behind her absence. "This year, Samara wanted to see Santa Claus, so we took her to a hotel, but by the time we got done, the lunch was over at Shashi uncle's place! We sacrificed our lunch for my granddaughter," she reasoned. 

Now, this certainly means that Kat isn't the reason why Neetu decided to skip the lunch. But you can't blame the media for the speculations. Previously too, Neetu had deliberately cropped Katrina out of a family picture and had raised quite a few eyebrows. Not just that, she clearly made her loyalties clear when she posted pictures of Ranbir with ex-flame Deepika Padukone on her wall and not his current beau Katrina's. Although Kat still wasn't the reason for Neetu's absence, we wonder if the ice has melted between the two!
