The Berklee College of Music, located in Boston Massachusetts in United States of America is now offering an AR Rahman Scholarship to students from India.
Berklee is the largest independent college of contemporary music in the world best known for study in Jazz and modern American music. The institute has honed the likes of musicians like Quincy Jones, Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford of Aerosmith, John Mayer, composer Howard Shore, and latest sensation Charlie Puth.
Berklee honoured AR Rahman with a doctorate in October 2014. Since then, the college and the maestro have cultivated a relationship to benefit students with the knowledge of music.
The scholarship will be awarded to one student holding Indian citizenship. The student will join the college in the new admission cycle.
Aspirants will have to give an audition and go through an interview process.
The auditions will be held in the following cities
Mumbai - January 26 and 27
New Delhi - January 30 and 31
Chennai - February 3
