For the last three weeks, Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has been mired in a lot of controversies. Mainly because of the presence of Pakistani hero Fawad Khan in the film. But there's no time to reshoot and removing his character from the film will only add to more confusion.

But will this affect its performance at the box office? That will be evident only next weekend. But before that, we bring you a detailed analysis of how much the film's budget is and how much it needs to earn at the Box Office to emerge as a hit film.

So here's the detailed analysis:

Cost of production for ADHM is around Rs 70-75 crore. Add another Rs 15 crore for print and publicity. That makes the total investment on the film to be around Rs 85-90 crore.

The film has already recovered around Rs 30 crore from its satellite rights and the music which has created huge buzz and attained chartbuster status has been sold off for another Rs 15 crore. The film has also raked in another Rs 10 crore from ancillary sources. That means the film has already recovered Rs 55 crore (approx) and it needs to recover Rs 35 crore of its investment.

For the film to break even and receover that Rs 35 crore, it needs to do double that value, that is Rs 70 crore at the box office will mean ADHM won't face any losses. At Rs 95 crore, the film is a hit. So anything in the range of Rs 95-115 crore and the film gets the 'hit' tag. Between Rs 115-135 crore again, the film gets superhit status. Above Rs 135 crore, the film will turn a blockbuster.
