Here's Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha's plan for Oscars 2018

Several reports started doing the rounds on Thursday morning that Ali Fazal has asked his lady luck Richa Chadha to attend the 90th Academy Awards ceremony along with him. Refuting all claims, Ali has revealed that he himself won’t be there for the event but is “gunning” for his Oscar-nominated film Victoria & Abdul.

For the uninitiated, Ali’s film Victoria & Abdul, featuring Hollywood star Judi Dench in a key role, has been nominated at the Oscars (Makeup-Hairstyling and Costume Design). 

Quashing all rumours, Ali re-tweeted a link of the speculative story and wrote, “Incorrect. I am shooting in Los Angeles (LA). Being in LA doesn’t mean Oscars. But still gunning for my film and team who will be there.”

“I am very excited about my film being up there at the Oscars,” he added.

Directed by Stephen Frears,  the film features Ali in the role of Indian servant Abdul to Judi's Queen Victoria. The British-American biographical drama, based on the book by Shrabani Basu, narrates the story of a unique bond between the two titular characters - different in age, ethnicity, position and gender. 

Meanwhile, the 90th Academy Awards will be held on March 4, 2018.
