The Academy announced the list of Emmy nominations on Thursday. Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, True Detective, Modern Family, Matthew McConaughey, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kerry Washington, Peter Dinklage all get nods.

HBO once again makes its presence felt as they lead the nominations for the 66th annual Primetime Emmy Awards. The introduction of critically and commercially acclaimed show 'True Detective' starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as well as the HBO original film 'The Normal Heart' showcase a strong front for the cable giant. Netflix once again proved that this is the time for internet streaming companies as they racked up more nominations this year, 31 to be precise.

Cult fantasy show 'Game of Thrones' landed the most nominations with 19, followed by FX’s dark adaptation 'Fargo', which picked up 18 nominations preferring to submit their nomination in the miniseries category. FX’s cash cow ' American Horror Story' comes in third with 'Coven' scoring 17 nods.

'Game of Thrones' led all nominees with 19 and pushed the premium cable network's overall nods to 99, the most of any network for the 14th year in a row.

In another cross-over from film, the 'Fargo' mini-series, based on the cult movie from the Coen brothers, managed to get 18 nominations, including best actor in a mini-series nods for both lead actors, Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman.
