After the epilogue of Harry Potter: Deathly Hollows, a lot of people imagined what their favourite wizarding family looked like after years since the events at Hogwarts.

Then JK Rowling brought Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. A play starting 19 years after where we left off. The play is debuting in London in a week.

Recently, the makers of the play released the first look of Harry Potter, Ginny Potter, and their second son Albus on Pottermore.com. Jamie Parker, Poppy Miller, and Sam Clemmett are playing the roles of Harry, Ginny and Albus respectively.

According to JK Rowling, Jamie Parker is Harry now. "There's a kind of relief in watching him, he gets it so right," she told Pottermore.

The costumes are designed by Katrina Lindsay. It is for the first time we see grown-up Harry. For Jaime Parker, there were suits and suits. Harry cannot be wearing the Hogwarts robes because he is a Ministry man now. They wanted the characters to be recognised for who they are, "With all the character’s costumes we want them to be instantly familiar when people see them, so that people feel like the story’s safe in our hands, and that we’re taking that responsibility seriously," said Parker.

About the signature glasses and the scar, Jamie Parker thinks they are iconic. "These are stories that people have lived with for their whole lives, they’ve grown up with and now they’re adults re-joining the tale, picking it up where they left off and I’m one of them. In a sense you don’t need more than the scar and the glasses, you kind of go, “there it is” and I don’t really know how to put it into words, it’s just immeasurably exciting and I can’t wait to show it to people."

For Ginny, Rowling thinks that people would like to have Poppy Miller as Ginny. "Kind and cool, exactly as I imagined her."

Miller is also liking the red, sleek 'Ginny' hair and is quite excited about the jumper!

Sam Clemmett plays Abus Severus Potter. He brings the Hogwarts robes back to the world. About his costume he has a backstory - "I had the idea he was wearing James’s – his older brother’s – hand-me-downs. So I wanted him to feel quite uncomfortable, and be able to play with his clothes."

Author JK Rowling thinks they couldn't have cast better for the role of Albus. But she won't give more details because she might be treading into spoiler territory.

Pottermore will soon release new character images. Let's assume they will be Paul Thornley's Ron and Noma Dumenzweni's Hermione.

Previews for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will begin on June 7 at the Palace Theatre in London.
