This song from the AR Rahman soundtrack is best remembered for the playful rendition by Mohit Chauhan, wherein Ranbir's happy-go-lucky vibe is what people connected to the most.
Tu Hai Ki Nahi
RK had a glorified cameo in this multi-composer album. And while Sooraj Dooba Hai had him listlessly driving Jacqueline Fernandez around, it is the brooding motorcyclist that we remember of this track, composed and sung by Ankit Tiwari
Badtameez Dil
The ultimate wedding entry track, this was RK's answer to Deepika's Balam Pichkari. Sung by Benny Dayal for RK, the Pritam album had several repeat-worthy hits to its credit, all with their own charms - none came close to this one in terms of appeal.
Jo Bhi Main
Imtiaz Ali takes this AR Rahman track from Rockstar and uses it to chart Ranbir's character Jordan's rise to fame. Mohit Chauhan sings this track with heart and it sees RK traverse continents and play to qawwals and concert-goers alike
Sadda Haq
Yes. That track which went from a 'Free Tibet' support track to a neutral 'freedom' track was a restrained rager sung by Mohit Chauhan, set to ARR's music for Rockstar. And then it brings the house down with a ferocious power.
Aas Paas Hai Khuda
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan sings the track from Anjaana Anjaani that sees two kindred souls finding each other against the background of suicide and joblessness. It's a hopeful track composed by Vishal Shekhar and is all about hoping against hope.
Pocket Mein Rocket Hai
Benny Dayal sang for RK on this rather quirky track featuring Ranbir as an ambitious Sardaar bloke in Rocket Singh Salesman Of Ther Year.. As title songs and films go, this one was so left-of-field people questioned his choices right then. But that winning smile and those killer dance moves to music by Salim Sulaiman! Can't go wrong there.
Tera Hone Lagaa Hoon
Atif Aslam and Alisha Chinai capture the beauty of first love beautifully on this Pritam track for the Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani soundtrack. It had its own charms.
Aaj Kal Zindagi
Shankar Ehsaan Loy composed for Wake Up Sid! It had the happy-go-lucky Sid navigate his independent life with the help of Aisha. Shankar Mahadevan helped chart that journey.
Bachna Ae Haseeno
The title song saw RK take over from dad Rishi with this recreated track by Vishal Shekhar. While it does feature original singer (late) Kishore Kumar's vocals, it also has the singer's youngest son Sumit on the track along with Vishal Dadlani. Our go-to track though is Khuda Jaane!
Jab Se Tere Naina
His debut film Saawariya was a disaster, but his star quality was evident from the word go. Shail Hada's rendition of the title track might have been a winner, but it was his towel drop video for this track sung by Shaan that got people talking.
