Hannibal actor Mads Mikkelsen is in early talks to star as villain in Marvel's Doctor Strange. The 49-year-old Danish actor will play one of the villains in the movie opposite Benedict Cumberbatch, reported Variety.

Chiwetel Ejiofor will play the titular doctor's arch enemy, Baron Mordo. Tilda Swinton is also confirmed to star in as the Ancient One.

Cumberbatch, 39, will play Stephen Vincent Strange, a former neurosurgeon who becomes the next Sorcerer Supreme and is up to protect the world from magical and mystical threats.

The character was created by Marvel Comics artist Steve Ditko in 1963.

The production work on the film is set to begin later this year. The movie is scheduled to release in November, 2016.
