Gulzar to translate Rabindranath Tagore songs into Hindi

Eminent writer-lyricist Gulzar will translate Bengali songs penned by Rabindranath Tagore into Hindi.

Saregama chairman Sanjiv Goenka today announced that they will be coming out with a Hindi album with Gulzar's interpretation of Tagore's famous songs. This is an 'audio-video journey' where Gulzar narrates his interpretation along with musical renditions done by Shantanu Moitra, Shaan and Shreya Ghosal.

"We are translating Tagore songs in Hindi to take it to a larger audience," Goenka said. Besides this, he said they are also making an encyclopedia of all-Tagore songs numbering around 2213.
