That scary woman in the picture is none other than Manini Mishra. Yes, the pretty actress has undergone a transformation to play a witch in Hatim. She was last seen as a cop in Diya Aur Baati Hum and Encounter. "It's a blessing that I get to play such diverse roles. When I was approached to play the queen of witchland I was fascinated," says Manini who took five hours to don the get-up. "I saw myself becoming ugly, uglier and ugliest with the help of Neerusha the designer," smiles Manini.

The best part about the role she says was sitting on a broom! "I had heard stories about witches flying on a broom as a kid and I would always think wow they had their own private jet," the actress says. While she enjoyed shooting for the episode the only setback was when she got Laryngitis. "First day I was playing with my voice and suddenly I couldn't talk! I gargled, took some antibiotic injections and shot," says the actress who is now looking forward to the response to her new avatar. "My nieces and nephews in Washington watch the show regularly and I want to see their reaction," quips the actress.
