Four-time Grammy Award-winning singer-actor Olivia Newton-John is all set to make her Bollywood debut in a yet untitled Indo-Australian co-production. The movie, set in Australia, will have a mix of politics and romance. Olivia is playing herself in the movie.

However, roping in Olivia was a tough ask. A source says, “Olivia was very busy when she was approached for this Bollywood movie. She was looking at touring America and was also looking at collaborations with American TV companies for soaps. Thus, getting her on board was a tough ask. The production team had to wait several months before they could get an appointment with her.”

However, when she heard the script, she immediately gave an okay. “The first sitting itself went very smoothly and she was keen to sign the film. The full script was left for her reading and she found the plot of politics and romance interesting. Though Olivia lives in the US now, she has a strong Aussie connection having been raised in Australia after she was born in England. She will record a couple of songs for the film and is most excited to be a part of Indian cinema which she adores. She is also a big fan of Indian music.”

Nicholas Brown, who stars alongside actor Hrithik Roshan in a
recent movie, is the lead actor in the film for which he is also apparently doing the production work.

He says, “Olivia comes in all the dream sequences and she makes a singing-acting debut in Bollywood. The film will roll out next year and it is indeed an Indo-Aussie co-production. Olivia is a legend by her own rights and she brings so much to this movie by just her presence. The film will undoubtedly have great music since Olivia is looking at it."
