Googling who is Priya Prakash Varrier? We did that for you and here is what we know about her so far

A week ago, very few people had heard about Priya Prakash Varrier. A week later, there’s hardly anyone who does not know the name. Reason? A killer smile and a naughty wink!

Some are calling her India’s 'National love interest', some have dubbed her "the girl who winked her way to fame". A look at her social media accounts will give an idea of how she became an overnight sensation after her memes went viral. She gained 600k followers on Instagram within a day. (That's right- 6 lakh followers in a day). 

She now has 1.6million followers on photo-sharing app and counting. 

Her popularity transcends social media platforms. She has gained nearly a lakh followers on Facebook and nearly 45,000 on Twitter, and all within 3 days. 

And these followers are from across the nation and some even from outside India.

That's a measurement of her popularity. But, we know very little about the girl except that she is making her acting debut with  Malayalam movie 'Oru Adaar Love'. 

Here is something (which we admit is very little, unfortunately) we know about her:

1- Oru Adaar Love, Varrier's debut movie, is directed by Omar Lulu.

2- She became a sensation after the release of the song 'Manikya Malaraya Poovi' from the movie. The song has over 8 million views on YouTube and counting. 

3- Varrier hails from Poonkunnam in Kerala's Thrissur district.

4- She is a BCom student of Vimala College in Thrissur.

5- She is pursuing her degree in B.Com.
