An easy way out
Hailing from a filmy background, it was comparatively easy for Gautam to bag his first film with the ‘not very easily approachable’ and extremely talented director, Ram Gopal Verma.

Narrating his experience of getting the role, Gautam says, “I had met Ramuji and showed him my pictures some time ago. He had told me that as soon as he got a script that required a face like mine he would give me a call.” He adds, “And true to his word, he called me when he started working on his film ‘Go’.” In this movie, Gautam plays a young, witty, carefree boy who runs away from home with his girlfriend to teach his parents a lesson. However, things go wrong and the couple finds themselves in a mess.

Star friends advice
Gautam agrees that he got things on a platter. Everything, from choosing the best acting and dance school to even receiving other guidance was easy, as he is close friends with the likes of Vivek Oberoi, Sameera Reddy and Harman Baweja. “Vivek and I are good friends. In fact, he recommended the acting school which I studied at in Boston.

Thereafter I came back to Mumbai and took acting classes here too.” Gautam is also a trained Bharatnatyam, Kathak and Salsa dancer. “Sameera recommended these classes to me. Similarly, Harman advised me to enrol myself in a few theatre workshops. They are more experienced than I am, and hence their advice has proved to be very helpful.”

Sports freak
Apart from acting, Gautam is passionate about sports too. He loves playing tennis and football. “I always keep myself busy with some form of outdoor sport. I think it is the best way to stay fit and healthy.” Gautam is crazy about cars and bikes too. Sounds like a dream guy for any girl, doesn’t he? But Gautam denies being romantically involved with anyone. “Right now, I have to strictly concentrate on work. There is no time for romance,” he smirks, signing off.
