George Clooney to direct book adaptation of UK phone-hacking scandal

George Clooney is set to direct an adaptation of the novel Hack Attack by Nick Davies that will be based on UK phone-hacking scandal, it has been revealed.

The Gravity star asserted that Davies was a brave and stubborn reporter and they considered it an honor to put his book to film, the Guardian reported.

The 53-yearold actor said in a statement that the book had all the elements at the highest levels of government by the biggest newspaper in London.

The movie will be focus on the investigation into Rupert Murdoch's media empire which revealed the phone-hacking scandal that rocked the British establishment and resulted in the closure of the News of the World.
