George Clooney, Amal Alamuddin's wedding cost USD 1.6 million?

The much-talked about wedding of Hollywood superstar George Clooney and Lebanese-British lawyer Amal Alamuddin reportedly cost USD 1.6 million. The couple got married in Venice, Italy on September 27 in a private ceremony attended by 100 of their nearest and dearest, including Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber, Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso, reported People magazine.

As a founder of Casamigos Tequila, Clooney and business partner and wedding guest Rande Gerber flew 100 cases of the brand's award-winning Blanco, Reposado and Anejo tequila from California to Italy for the wedding festivities.

According to sources, speculative reports placing the wedding cost anywhere from USD 5 million to upwards of USD 13 million are incorrect. Additional reports claiming Alamuddin's family footed the bill for the wedding weekend, which included several fetes at the matrimonial home base, the Belmond Hotel Cipriani ? are also inaccurate, sources said.
