Gauri Shinde's Shah Rukh Khan-Alia Bhatt starrer takes off!

Director Gauri Shinde has started working on her next project, starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt, from Thursday.

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is co-producing the project took to Twitter to share his excitement about the yet untitled movie.

Alia, 22, will be sharing the screen space with SRK for the first time, and the actress also posted an enthusiastic tweet.

"And a beautiful new journey begins!!!! Day one today for Gauris film. Wish me luckkkk @iamsrk @karanjohar @gauris," she wrote

The film is being produced by SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment, Johar's Dharma and Hope Productions.

Shinde, who made a promising directorial debut with 2012 movie English Vinglish, starring Sridevi, said a few months ago that the upcoming film will not have "typical romance".
