Hoping to bank on the death of John Snow, HBO has just released the first teaser poster for the season 6 of Game of Thrones.

Captioned 'April', the poster shows bloodied and beaten Jon Snow fuelling the debate over the fate of fallen Commander of the Night Watch.

Earlier, everyone from the showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss to actors like Kit Harington (who plays Jon Snow) and Maisie Williams had denied the possibility of Jon Snow surviving the mutiny after the last shot of the season 5 left the viewers in shock.

But when Kit Harington was spotted in full Stark family costume, shooting in Belfast, everyone was left wondering if Jon Snow is really dead, and of not how he might have survived or possibly resurrected. After all, Melssandre, the red priestess is still at Castle Black.

The poster is the first step in the promotion of the new season of Game of Thrones. Seems fair after the rounds of rumours about casting and then confirmations of the cast for the upcoming season.

The April caption suggests that the HBO hit saga will be pushed back a little towards the end of Spring to make room for Martin Scorcese's Vinyl. Usually, Game of Thrones hits the screens in late March or early April.

So, after sweeping the Emmys, Game of Thrones is ready to return this Spring. Are you ready to watch?
