Ian Glen is one of the few lucky ones on Game of Thrones whose character, Ser Jorah Mormont, has avoided the chopping block. Will his character survive the season 7 of HBO hit show?

In an interview with Stuff.co about his work on Jack Taylor, Glen also talked a bit about the fate of Ser Jorah after he was inflicted with the lethal disease of Greyscale in the season five of Game of Thrones. The same disease Princes Shireen survived before being burned alive to fulfil her father's, Stannis Baratheon, purpose.

Game of Thrones writers have never made qualms about killing off fan-favourite characters. But looks like Jorah's unrequited love story is one of the favourite plotlines of the writers too.

He said, "There's quite a high death count in Game of Thrones and they don't blanch at removing favourite characters. They just get rid of them in a brutal way. My end may well be close but so far I'm doing OK."

Glen also added that he has always enjoyed playing Jorah. It's one of the roles that has been good for him.

The last we saw of Jorah in the world of Westeros, was when Daenerys Targaryen ordered him to find a cure for Greyscale and get back to her as she finally crosses the sea to claim what's hers.

The show returns on July 16.
