 Following the suspense over the alleged suicide of Balika Vadu starlet Pratyusha Banerjee on Friday, celebrities across Bollywood and the Indian soap opera industry took to the social media to express their shock and dismay and offered their condolences while asserting that 'suicide' was never the solution to any problem.

Several TV stars took to Twitter to express how alarmed and saddened they were by this distressing news.
Ace Bollywood director Karan Johar expressed his shock saying, 'This is just so sad...and a wake up calm to families and friends who don't consider depression a medical condition...RIP #PratyushaBanerjee'
'Deeply saddened by the news about #PratyushaBanerjee. May God give her family the strength to deal with this loss,' Bollywood legend Anupam Kher tweeted.

Singer-actress Sophie Choudry said that she was heartbroken by the news and that it reminded her about the similar tragedies of Nafisa and Jiah Khan who were all 'beautiful and talented girls'.
Actor Ajaz Khan who was with Pratyusha on Bigg Boss Season 7, said that he didn't think it was 'suicide but a planned murder'.

Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja also offered his condolences but said that 'no Matter How Big Problems You Have In Life, Suicide Is Never An Option. RIP Pratyusha Banerjee.'
According to reports, Pratyusha hanged herself from a fan at her Kandivli residence but was found and taken to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital where she succumbed.

The Jamshedpur-born actress followed on her early success with popular TV serial 'Balika Vadhu' as Anandi which managed to win applause with the social issues it raised and the awareness it created amongst the viewers.

She was later seen in the reality dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5, Bigg Boss 7 and hosted some episodes of Savdhaan India. She recently appeared in Sasural Simar Ka. (
