As luck may have it, although the clash has affected the film, Rustom is doing better business than all other Akshay films this year. Akshay Kumar's Rustom is his third release this year. After Airlift in January and Housefull 3 in June. Both Airlift and Housefull 3 entered the 100 crore club eventually but giving them stiff competition is Rustom, which has performed even better than the two, despite a titanic clash with Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro at the ticket counters.

The film opened to almost double the figures of MD on Friday. With Rs 14 crore on its opening day, Rustom added another Rs 16.25 crore on Saturday and raked in a humongous Rs 19.50 crore on Sunday, despite stiff competition from the Hrithik starrer. The three day total stood at Rs 49.75 crore.

Along with that, the collections on Monday too were excellent because of Independence Day. So the total 4 day tally is around Rs 67.50 crore. That is Rs 6 crore more than what Housefull 3 did in 4 days. Also, Airlift had barely done Rs 50 crore in the first 4 days. So despite the clash, Rustom has raced ahead of Akshay's other films as well.
