All eyes are on the two romantic films that have hit screens this Friday. Fitoor and Sanam Re. On one hand, there's an intense, passionate love story like Fitoor which has Katrina Kaif, Aditya Roy Kapur and Tabu playing the leading roles and on the other you have a young, fresh and urban love story like Sanam Re with Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam and Urvashi Rautela leading the pack. Expectations and anticipation are bound to sky-rocket, given their big-ticket clash at the Box Office.

The first day occupancy reports are out and it seems to be rather dull for both the films. First things first, Fitoor released in around 1500 screens across the nation whereas Sanam Re had a little wider release with 2000 screens. Essentially a multiplex film, Fitoor is expected to have a spike in its collections in the evening. Sanam Re already has an edge with a bigger screen count and the film is also working way better than Fitoor in circuits like Gujarat, Rajasthan and CI. But will that be enough? We don't know yet.

Both the films have around 15% opening day occupancy which is way below the expected mark. Fitoor needs to grow on Saturday and Sanam Re might put up a decent opening total, corresponding to its rather lesser budget of Rs 15 crore. Fitoor has to work its way because it has a much higher production cost that amounts to Rs 70 crore. It all depends on how the films fare in the evening and the night shows now.

So who is expected to win the opening day box office battle? Sanam Re or Fitoor? None! Then? It's Hollywood superhero flick Deadpool which has woven its magic at the box office. Fitoor and Sanam Re have under-performed and interestingly, Deadpool has taken a good leap with the English version of the film having much better occupancy than the two Bolly romantic sagas. But its Hindi dubbed version has not opened that well. Nevertheless, it will still manage to take a lead over the two Hindi films after Friday. Another curious case of Hollywood beating Bollywood!
