In a unique initiative on World Braille Day January 4 , Mickey Mehta with the Director of National Association for the Blind are launching a braille book on health and fitness titled Swasthya Aur Aarogya. The book is written by Mickey Mehta and covers wellness tips for pregnant and lactating women.

Mickey explains that the visually impaired are often clueless about the nourishment of a newborn child. “The book is aimed at creating awareness about infant care for visually impaired women. We want to help women create a new lease of life through life-science,” he said. The idea for the book dawned upon him through one of his former projects ‘Heal the World’.

“While the world is busy creating better lives for ordinary people, this endeavour focuses on special conditions of the visually impaired since not much is done for them,” elaborates Mickey. Mickey Mehta has penned tips on how to cook food and increase milk production for lactating women using the principles of Ayurveda. While the main objective of this project is life generation, the author does not want to turn it into a commercial venture. The braille version will only be available on his website.

When asked about the importance of wellness, Mickey says, “In today’s world parents need to take initiative and take their children out to induce the culture of wellness. We need to shift our focus to our health. Wellness can help one achieve success. It adds value to every aspect of one’s life. There is no point in gaining the world and loosing oneself.”
